The Best Travel Companion: Solo, Friends, Family, or Romance?

The company you keep while roaming our blue-green globe can have a huge effect on how your story plays out. Having tried them all, heres what I’ve discovered:

SOLO

Most of the life-changing and personal growth form of traveling has to be solo. Thats where the soul-searching adventures are found. I’m fond of this type of journey. I feel brave, resourceful and strong.

The freedom obtained by this kind of movement is unlike anything else. I feel like I truly can be anyone I want, that I’m able to start over and see life from a fresh lens. I also believe that this is the least stressful form of travel because I’m constantly able to choose what I want and need for myself at all times. I don’t have to rely on coming to an agreement with another person on where, how, when or why a decision should be made.

On some fronts this can be less expensive than traveling with friends or partners. This is because sometimes when we travel with friends, we feel pressured to do what everyone else is doing or split expenses on certain things we normally spend if we were alone. Romantically; sometimes we choose to spent more time staying in private places or fancy dates, which can result in a higher cost.
